NGA Pro Golf Tour "Barefoot Swing"


Barefoot Resort & Golf, located in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is excited to announce that they will kick of their 2012 tournament schedule with the NGA Hooters Tour. The tour will play in consecutive weeks starting January 31, 2012 and concluding on February 23, 2012. The quartet of events will encompass their Pro Series Ranking School.
The first event will take place at the Dye Club January 31 – February 2. The course is a Par 72; 7,343-yard layout within a gated community on the exterior perimeter of the property. Pete Dye is famous for his use of native grasses. The fairways are GN-1 Bermuda grass, a hybrid developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approaches are Tifdwarf Bermudagrass, the greens are L-93 Bentgrass and the dramatic visual effects are achieved by the Centipede and Zoysia grass roughs.
The second event will take place February 7–9 on the Love course. The Love Course is a Par 72 and plays over 7,000 yards. Tee and fairways consist of GN-1, which is a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approach areas consist of Tif-sport Bermuda grass. The greens surfaces are an A-1 Bentgrass and the rough areas are 419 Bermuda grass.
 The third event will take place February 14-16 on the Fazio course. The Fazio Course is a Par 71, approximately 6,834 yards long. Tees and fairways consist of GN-1, which is a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approach areas consist of Tif- Sport Bermuda grass and the rough areas are 419 Bermuda grass. The new addition to the course is the greens which consist of a Champions Ultra Dwarf Grass.
The final event of the Carolina Winter Series will take place February 21-23 at the Norman course. The Norman Course is a Par 72, approximately 7,200 yards long and was designed with Norman's philosophy to bring into play the "bump and run" shots around the greens. The greens are gently undulating and consist of an average green area of 6,300 square feet. Tees and Fairway consist of GN-1, which is a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approach areas are Tifdwarf grass. The new addition to the course is the greens which consist of a Champion Ultra Dwarf Grass.
 This is Barefoot Resort & Golf’s third year in a row hosting, and the first time they will conduct a tournament on all four courses in the same calendar year. While onsite, players will have many options at there disposal. They will be treated to first class service and amenities which include; a 30 acre driving range, dining on site at the Resort Clubhouse or Dye Clubhouse and close proximity to shops and dining at Barefoot Landing. Players will be given an opportunity to purchase an accommodations package which gives them an extremely affordable option to stay on site through Barefoot Golf Vacations.
